Academic Planning
Advanced Studies Classes
Advanced Studies classes are accelerated courses designed to prepare students for the IB Diploma program taken as juniors and seniors. Advanced Studies classes are offered, in the core areas of English, Math, History, and Science, during the freshman and sophomore years. Although it is certainly recommended that students have a foundation in Advanced Studies before continuing on to the full IB program, it is not necessarily a prerequisite. The entire program is self-selecting meaning students who want the academic and intellectual challenge, and who have a teacher recommendation, may register for the classes.
