Spring 2012

End-of-Course Testing now replaces what was previously known as MAP testing. These tests are still administered through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and have the following purpose:

•Measuring student achievement and progress toward postsecondary readiness
•Identifying students’ strengths and weaknesses
•Communicating expectations for all students
•Meeting state and national accountability requirements
•Evaluating programs

EOC exams will provide a valid and reliable method for assessing students’ knowledge of Missouri’s Course-Level Expectations (CLEs). They will also allow classroom teachers to incorporate statewide assessment results into students’ course grade
