China Cultural Exchange

The 6th annual Chinese cultural exchange between Lee's Summit R-7 District Students and Chang'an School #1 is an incredible opportunity. Students host a student from China in February 2011 and then travel to China in March 2011.

Students and sponsors spend two weeks touring China and staying with host families. In order to be a part of this year's exchange, be sure to have your application, agreement form, and $250 deposit in by October 27, 2010 or see the sponsoring teacher at your school.

Important Dates:

  • October 27, 2010- application, agreement, and $250* deposit
  • Apply for Passports
  • December 15- $1,000* and teacher recommendations
  • February 2, 2010 - $1,000 final payment
  • February tba- Host family meeting @ LSHS
  • February tba - Host student from China

Trip Information:

This is the R-7 District's 6th Annual Cultural Exchange with China. All three Lee's Summit high schools will be attending: LSN, LSW, and LSHS. This year's trip will be from March 10-21, 2011 and will cost approximately $2,300 (click here for a price comparison).
In order to sign up for the trip, an initial deposit of $250 is required by October 27, 2010.

Multiple informational meetings will also be held concerning the trip and exchange. There will be ample time to prepare and ask questions.

Overview:

  • Leave March 10. Students travel with teacher sponsors to Beijing 3 days and 2 nights.
  • 4 days and nights in Xi'an (Chang'an #1 school)
  • 3 days and 2 nights in Shanghai.
  • Boot Camps will be offered to traveling students prior to the trip.
  • Some fundraising opportunities may be offered.
