Time Commitment:

30 minute Advisory session every Wednesday, Freshman Transition day before school opens, Training sessions, May and August, and weekly prep time (review lesson, plan ice-breaker, and touch base with Academic Coach). Lasts for two years. Happens throughout the LSHS campus.

 

 

 

Description:

A Tiger Mentor serves as a friend and role model for an Advisory group of 9th and 10th grade students. Tiger Mentors are expected to assume leadership roles during Advisory under the supervision of an Academic Coach.

Eligibility Requirements:

Junior or Senior with 95% attendence, 2.5 unweighted GPA, and is present at school between hours 3 and 4 every Wednesday. Only 60-90 11th grade Mentors are chosen.

How to Join:

Prospective mentors must complete application process in spring for participation during the following school year. Application process includes information forms, submission forms, submission of sample activities, teacher recommendations, No Use Commitment agreement, and analysis of attendance and GPA.
