Many DECA activities serve as community service projects. The DECA Board meets before school. DECA meetings are held during class time.

How to Join:

There are no dues for joining the LSHS DECA chapter. State and National dues are $10.00.

 

Club Description:

DECA is a non-profit national youth organization for students interested in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Chapter activities are recognized as an integral part of the total educational program because they develop leadership skills, professional attitudes, citizenship characteristics and social skills. Through DECA activities, members learn and apply leadership, social, vocational, and academic skills. DECA promotes understanding and appreciation for the responsiblities of citizenship in a private free enterprise system. DECA encourages civic responsibility through professional conferences, chapter activities, school improvement projects, and support of community projects. DECA officers for the Lee's Summit chapter include: President, Vice-Presidents (one each hour), Secretary, and Public Relations. Officers will be asked to attend the district and stat DECA Leadership Conferences in October.

DECA is the only international organization specifically designed to reinforce the occupational competencies of high school students who wish to pursue a career in marketing, merchandising and management.

Eligibility Requirements:

Students must be enrolled in Marketing 101 or Creative Marketing through Entrepreneurship.
